M. Derin Raji, MBA, MPP, MTech
Derin was most recently with the Technology to Market group at the Department of Energy's Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy (ARPA-E) working on the GRID DATA program which is focused on developing real world complex power transmission and distribution system models with the aim of supporting the development of innovative algorithms for the power grid to help address operational challenges.
Prior to this Derin worked in Corporate Strategy at Alcoa and as a Policy Fellow for the Governor of Alabama supporting the Governor's Improving State Government Strategic Initiatives.
Derin spent eight years at Royal Dutch Shell, six years as a part of the Operations team working in Facilities and Systems Engineering roles and two years in Project Management, all supporting oil and gas production platforms, and before that worked for two years at Schlumberger as a Drilling and Logging Engineer.
Derin holds a Master of Business Administration and Master of Public Policy, with a focus on Entrepreneurship, Energy Business and Energy Policy, from Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School of Government respectively; a Master of Petroleum Technology from Curtin University of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
