Scott Burton, MBA
Scott Burton is the Chief Financial Officer for Resilient Grid. Scott joins Resilient Grid from Burton & Associates, a corporate finance consulting practice specializing in early stage and high growth organizations in the energy, clean-tech and software sectors. For over 25 years he has been growing businesses by analyzing, modeling and optimizing financial performance, finding business innovation opportunities and improving decision quality. With deep experience in business models, process improvement, strategy, M&A, capital formation, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), reporting, budgeting and forecasting, Scott has worked with companies from start-ups to Fortune 100 organizations in North America, Asia and Europe including solar panel manufacturers, system integrators, micro-grid and combined heat & power developers, biofuel producers, utility scale renewable power plants and software solutions.
Prior to that, Scott was a corporate finance consultant for Bridgepoint Consulting extending the reach of clients in space launch services, e-commerce, SaaS, and telecom as well as energy.
Corporate roles have included financial planning and analysis management for a Fast-50 SaaS ecommerce platform provider, a wireless wide area network-as-a-service startup, and a medical device company during an IPO. International corporate experience includes two years as a Global Strategist within the Chairman's Office at Samsung HQ, three years as Assistant Director of Finance and Development for Club Med Asia, and launching his career as a Securities Analyst focused on SE Asia economic forecasting for Credit Lyonnais Hong Kong.
Scott earned his MBA in Finance from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a B.A. with Honors in Economics from Brandeis University. Scott has been a thought leader in Central Texas on solar industry issues, serving for more than 5 years on the Board of Solar Austin (past VP and Treasurer) and speaking at industry events and policy forums.
